Mandatory Credit: Michael Madrid-USA TODAY Sports Sweden's Ludvig Aberg will have arthroscopic surgery this week to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, Golf Channel reported Monday.
Aberg, No. 5 in the Official World Golf Ranking, finished 16th in the Tour Championship on Sunday in Atlanta. He withdrew from the Wells Fargo Championship in May citing knee pain, and played the PGA Championship the following week wearing a brace.
Aberg, 24, will be able to start hitting golf balls again about three to four weeks after the procedure and likely will play a limited schedule this fall, according to the report.
He is the defending champion at the RSM Classic, scheduled for Nov. 21-24 in St. Simons Island, Ga.
Aberg has eight top-10 finishes in 19 PGA Tour starts in 2024, including a runner-up finish at the Masters -- his first appearance in a major.
Aberg missed the cut at the PGA Championship and The Open Championship and finished T12 at the U.S. Open. He tied for second at the BMW Championship last month.
