Reports: Bulls Trade Derrick Rose To Knicks
Photo via Tony Dejak/ [object Object] The Cavs are still out there partying, but the rest of the NBA has already moved on. According to multiple reports, the Chicago Bulls are trading Derrick Rose to the New York Knicks for a haul of players. The former MVP and Chicago native has one year and $21 million left on his contract.
Rose hasn’t been the same lighting quick and insanely exciting player he was since tearing his ACL in the 2011-12 playoffs, and he’s suffered numerous other debilitating injuries in the years to follow. Knicks president Phil Jackson, seemingly desperate for relevance, is hoping that in the final year of his deal Rose will resemble a reasonable facsimile of his former self. As for the Bulls, with the loss of Rose and probable losses of Joakim Noah (free agent) and Pau Gasol (opt out), they will look like a very different team next season.
