Rory McIlroy Celebrated Being The World's No. 1 Golfer By Playing Tennis Against Maria Sharapova
Newly crowned world's top golfer Rory McIlroy—fresh off his win at the Honda Classic—joined a star-studded gallery at the BNP Paribas Showdown at Madison Square Garden last night to watch girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki lose in straight sets to Maria Sharapova 6-3, 6-4.
Little did McIlroy realize he'd be more than a spectator, after being dragged onto the court by Wozniacki and playing a point in her stead—one he actually managed to win, if you ignore the fact he didn't actually serve the ball into play. Still, though, I'd be more than happy to have his backhand. [ESPN3]
