Roy Halladay's "Dear John" Letter To Toronto
The Phillies' newest acquisition took out a full page ad in the Toronto Sun today to tell loyal Blue Jays fans, "Welcome to Dumpsville. Population: Six million, if you count the greater metro area."
It's become standard practice for beloved veterans to break out the tear-stained goodbye letter on their way to greener pastures, and if anyone would have to follow suit it would be Halladay. He's spent 15 years (Really? Wow.) in the Blue Jays organization with nary a playoff game to show for it. Still, he thanked the fans for their "incredible support and compassion" and a lifetime of memories that he will now take elsewhere and cheapen by shacking up with some good-time floozy.
Also, I believe his name is an anagram for "Genuine Class."
