Simone Biles Just Put A Historic Whooping On The Women's Gymnastics Field
via NBC Simone Biles, American hero, finished her dominant victory in the women’s all-around gymnastics competition with a 15.933 in the floor routine. She ended up 2.1 points clear of silver medalist Aly Raisman, which is higher than the combined margins of victory from every all-around competition from 1980 through 2012. The scoring system has changed and expanded since then, but it’s still indicative of her casual dominance. Her margin of victory was, of course, easily better than any winning gap since new rules were enacted in 2006.
Biles has won the all-around at the last three World Championships, but her score of 62.198 was much higher than any of her previous winning totals.
NBC’s commentators insisted that Simone Biles is already the greatest of all time at 19, and I hope she goes to the Tokyo Olympics and stunts on the field it all over again.
