The Blazers And Mavericks Scored 11 Points In A Thrilling Final 30 Seconds
The Trail Blazers seem to have some magic about them this season. Knocking on the door of the playoff picture, Portland overcame a 21-point second-half deficit to pull out a last-second win over Dallas, thanks to a pair of unlikely sharpshooters. Nicolas Batum tied the game with a rushed three with 28 seconds left, and after Dirk Nowitzki answered with a would-be dagger, Lamarcus Aldridge hit his first three-pointer of the season to tie it up again. After O.J. Mayo was whistled for a charge, the Blazers had 1.5 seconds left to make something happen. Inbounds to Aldridge, turnaround jumper, game.
Aldridge was named to his second All-Star Game last week, and not even scoring five points in five seconds can phase his teammates.
"I knew he was going to make it," Batum said.
"He was smiling like a rookie, like his first NBA game. We needed those two shots. They show people that he really is an All-Star. He is an All-Star. He's a go-to guy."
With the win, the Blazers are back above .500 and just one game out of the eighth seed in the West.
