The Cardinals Lost Their 26th Game
Photo: [object Object] Right-hander Zach Davies pitched eight scoreless innings Wednesday as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 3-1.
Despite loading the bases twice, Cardinals starter Jaime García was relatively unscathed over five innings of work. Two RBI singles from Ryan Braun and Chris Carter gave Milwaukee a 2-0 lead in the first; Martin Maldonado added a home run off reliever Matt Bowman in the sixth inning. Garcia was marked with his fifth loss of the season, as the Redbirds’ offense failed to score until a Brandon Moss solo homer in the ninth.
The Cardinals are three and a half games in front of the fourth-place Brewers in the NL Central. There’s always the next game!
