The End Of Productivity: Your NFL Opener Is Finally Here
I don't know about you, but after a summer of confusing Chinese Olympic ceremonies and Barry Zito highlights, I'm ready for tonight's game big time. Redskins! Giants! Meadowlands! The NFL is here! My nipples explode with delight. If they're smart, the Giants should have worked this week on figuring out how to lose this game. They started 0-2 last season, as you'll recall, and according to the papers it all turned out pretty well. The Redskins, meanwhile, are trotting out their Sarah Palin: Newly minted head coach Jim Zorn; who has little foreign policy experience, but is the only current NFL head coach to have been succeeded as a player by Dave Krieg. Will it seem weird to see the Redskins run the West Coast offense? Only if they do it wrong. So, 7 p.m., ET, NBC, as we just learned in To Watch Tonight. I'm reasonably sure that it will be better attended than Wednesday's Braves-Marlins game. ****** Tonight in the comments, there will be football talk, and much rowdy behavior. Possibly alcohol will be consumed. Please clean up after yourselves, because I'd hate to come in Friday morning to a big mess. And MST3K quotes welcome. If you'd like to learn more about how you can support Deadspin, here are some pamphlets. As always, thank you.
