Illustration for article titled The One With The NFL Wideout Sending Unsolicited Wanking Pics Of Himself

Welcome back to Deleted Scenes. This space is now reserved for those scuzz-money entrepreneurs who've unsuccessfully tried to sell us prurient information. This is also where we'll run notable emails we've received from some of our readers. All emails are [sic]'d. Enjoy.

Price Offered: $93.24

From [Redacted]:

I am in possession of two pictures (one of the NFL star posing topless on the bed, another of him masturbating himself with Palmers Cocoa Butter) that were sent to several married women (one of them my wife) by a prominent NFL wide receiver (he has a television show). I have the text messages and the star's phone number and VZW name. Before I name names, or release any photos, I would like to know if there is the possibility of compensation for these photos and I want to make it clear that I do not want me or my wife mentioned in any stories, postings, blogs or anything. I wish to remain anonymous. What is the process. I look forward to hearing from you/

[Redacted]: What do you have exactly? And what process are you inquiring about?

I have pictures of a prominent NFL wide receiver (last played for the Bengals) doing what I described in the initial email. I was interested in selling the photos. That was the process I was inquiring about.

Okay. What are you asking for? For us, those types of photos are worth, oh, $93.24.

Sadly, no response after lowball offer.

Notable Fanmail

SUBJECT: Pink Gorilla

I'm glad to see that you've moved up from sabotaging the careers of those you don't know well (Erin Andrews, Patriots Cheerleader Girl, Jenn Sterger, numerous ESPN employees, etc) to sabotaging the careers of those who work for you. I've read Deadspin since day 1 so I know that ESPN is the devil himself, complete with horns and fire and brimstone to boot, but there is no reason for you to go out of your way to ruin any chances Craggs has of succeeding in life after Deadspin.

You sent a pink, singing gorilla to a serious business meeting in which you weren't even involved and "I do not have John Walsh's email" is the best excuse you could come up with. You are AJ Daulerio, EIC of Deadspin. You have Simmons personal email address. You went on a date with Linda Cohn. You couldn't track down Walsh's email address and send a note over? I guess when you can't locate an email address, the absolute best, most professional alternative is sending a singing telegram. Makes perfect sense to me. And to top it all off you openly admit that your own post about Craggs initial meeting contributed to the whole mess which led to the revocation of his offer, yet you still continue to post about it all.

I know how happy it makes you to hear this, so I'll go ahead and say it. You're an asshole. You're a bully with a large audience which you use to threaten and manipulate people to get your way. When you don't get your way you use Deadspin as your platform for personal revenge. You don't have the slightest bit of journalistic integrity and no matter how much damage you cause, your defense is always, "it was news, I had to report it."

Keep up the great work and keep making Nick Denton proud with those page views. Dick.

SUBJECT: Issue With Athlete Picture

Hey guys,

We have a help desk complaint from the young athlete featured in a particularly "poopy" Deadspin story from a month ago. I know we don't really remove stuff, but you have to admit this it kind of a shitty (yeah, yeah) thing to follow you around for your entire internet/athletic career. Comes up when googling her name.

[, having trouble getting the original DS to load for some reason]

The internet never forgets so it likely wouldn't help even if we did remove, but is there a standard response in situations like this? She's worried about her reputation and future sponsorships.

Think it's enough to move any comment that mentions her name?

Would appreciate how you've managed requests like this in the past. Usually we get insistence on credit, not obliteration of picture.

SUBJECT: David Rorer/Jeter

yeah, because Derek Jeter might get voted into an all star game unfairly once in a first ballot hall of fame career, then his career must just be a series of fluke hits. And everything he's accomplished is being overrated, for what reason exactly ? David Rorer sounds like another in a long line of douchebags who have been trying to ram their agenda on every lame blog site for 10 plus years now. Get a life already, if you love Asdrubal Cabrera then write an article about him instead of trashing a legend you stupid fuck. Have a nice day

SUBJECT: BCS - Antitrust

Ah, so the mere hint of a DOJ investigation is tantamount to declaration that the BCS violates antitrust law?Funny how something can violate the law in the absence of any formal government decree to that effect. But I guess if you really, really hate something, it must be illegal.

Your post was an insult to the thousands of innocent people whose lives have been destroyed - to say nothing of the billions in capital wrongfully confiscated by the state - by the Antitrust Division. It's one thing to be ignorant of the true effects of antitrust "law." It's quite another to publicly spread your ignorance in an effort to aid and abet one of the most evil institutions in this country.

SUBJECT: Not A Stalker

Hello Ms. Carmichael,

I wanted to introduce myself as someone who enjoys your writing. I just read your graduation day story accompanied by the enjoyable picture of you trying to recall the previous nights shenanigans.

Anyhoo, I would like to buy you a Dr Pepper and chat. You seem like a very cool young lady.

About me:
ten years your senior but who's counting!
My best quality - humor and wit. I'm funny, or so they say.

Seriously, I am normal and mostly sane. Oh, I too live in NY.

So, Dr Pepper? Take a chance on me.
Best regards to you.

(Ed.note: Stalker)
