Trapeze Collapse At Ringling Bros. Circus Critically Injures Acrobats
Today's horrible circus accident comes to you from the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, where Rhode Island authorities are responding after this trapeze disaster during a Ringling Bros. And Barnum & Bailey Legends show.
The Providence Journal reports up to 20 acrobats were injured as they fell from up to 40 feet.
We'll try and update as we learn more about the performers' conditions.
Update (4:34 p.m.): ABC says it's nine performers who were seriously injured, and that the stunt involves them being pulled up by their hair, which sounds awful even if it works correctly.
