Tyler Toffoli blasted a power-play goal 1:58 into overtime as the San Jose Sharks rallied to beat the visiting Dallas Stars 5-4 on Saturday afternoon.

After helping erase a two-goal deficit in the third period, Toffoli rifled the game-winner, his second goal in a three-point outing, on a 4-on-3 power play after Mikko Rantanen went off for holding 57 seconds into overtime.

Alexander Wennberg and Jeff Skinner tallied on the man advantage as the club recorded its first game with four power-play goals (4 for 6) this season. Adam Gaudette scored and assisted. Goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic stopped 16 shots.

Nineteen-year-old Macklin Celebrini posted three assists to move his point streak to 13 games (nine goals, 18 helpers), tying him with Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon for the second-longest such streak by a teenager. Patrik Laine (15 in 2017-18) set the record when he played for the Winnipeg Jets.

For Dallas, Rantanen and Jason Robertson had a goal and assist apiece, and Kyle Capobianco and Justin Hryckowian scored. Goalie Casey DeSmith made 26 saves.

Stars captain Jamie Benn (upper body) missed his third consecutive match.

In the matchup of backup netminders, DeSmith and Nedeljkovic denied great scoring opportunities in the first five minutes, but Hryckowian stole a puck from Vincent Iorio at the blue line and sped in alone on Nedeljkovic. The rookie zipped in his seventh goal at 7:33.

During a delayed penalty on Sharks defenseman Nick Leddy, Robertson collected a rebound and potted his team-leading 26th marker into an open net at 19:03 to make it a two-goal margin.

In the second period, Celebrini slipped a backhanded feed that Wennberg put in at 4:44 to halve the deficit. Following a penalty to the Stars' Colin Blackwell, Skinner tapped in a slick feed from Igor Chernyshov 10 minutes later for a tie at 2.

All the Sharks' momentum, however, ground to a halt near the end, as Capobianco buried a 2-on-1 from the right circle with 59 seconds left for another Dallas lead.

Rantanen batted in a tally at 7:53 of the third, but Toffoli matched it on the power less than two minutes later to make it 4-3. Gaudette chipped in the tying goal with just under five minutes to play.
