UCLA Is Quite Athletic

Illustration for article titled UCLA Is Quite Athletic

Oregon took the court wearing the latest in Nike's experimental uniforms, and for a while the shimmering black-on-black look appeared to work out for the visitors. However their second half lead was quickly erased by the Bruins up-tempo attack. Russell Westbrook appeared to tweak his ankle, but he came right back out and threw down one of the most vicious dunks of the season on some poor unsuspecting Duck. He and Darren Collison combined for 33 points and 8 assists with Kevin Love providing 15 and 11. UCLA outscored Oregon by 13 in the second half on their way to a 75-65 win.

Mid-Majorama. Butler's reign atop the mountain of mid-majors took a serious blow last night when Drake (ed. note: Love the Drake!) upended the Bulldogs 71-64. Josh Young led the way for Drake with 25 points.

Kansas State has two players. Holy crap! Michael Beasley blew up for 44 and 13 while Bill Walker did his thing with 31 and 11, but Kansas State lost. Yes, apparently Baylor's entire roster of basketball playing student athletes was enough to trump State's two dominant forces by a score of 92-86. Yep, the rest of the Wildcat roster contributed just 11 points on 18 shots.

Bayless is God. Freshman deity Jerryd Bayless dropped 20 points in the second half against Wazzu to carry Arizona to a huge win. Chase Buddinger scored 22 and the Wildcats are looking more like a legitimate tournament team despite some injury concerns.

Kansas blows. That is all.
