The start of the first round at the Valero Texas Open was delayed on Thursday morning due to a "dangerous weather situation" in the San Antonio Area, the PGA Tour announced.

Players were originally scheduled to tee off at 7:30 a.m. CT. The start time was pushed back to 8:15 a.m. CT.

Showers with isolated thunderstorms and potential lightning strikes were in the local forecast, with the weather expected to clear up by midday.

As the last tournament before the Masters, the Valero Texas Open at TPC San Antonio is the final opportunity for a winning player to earn an invitation to Augusta National.
