Washington State Quarterback Carted Off After Being Knocked Out By Blow To The Head [UPDATE]
Luke Falk has been a folk hero to Cougars fans in leading Washington State to its best record in years, but the quarterback left today’s game against Colorado in the third quarter after a big hit left the back of his head ricocheting off the turf in Pullman.
Falk lay motionless for several minutes before showing the thumbs-up as he was carted off the field; while that’s no evidence of his lasting health, it’s an improvement over how things looked seconds after the hit. Falk suffered a similar injury last week against UCLA after his helmet hit the ground and left him clearly dazed:

Update (2:06 a.m.): WSU coach Mike Leach rather belligerently declared Falk “healthy as could be” after the game.
