The 2021 NFL season is still in its infancy, but we’re finally starting to get a clear picture of which teams are about that action and which teams are not.

We can talk another day about the teams that are actually for real. This is about the teams that are not.

As we do each week, let’s take a look at which teams are stinking up the joint and rank them accordingly.

Welcome to the NFL Powerless Rankings.

The Colts shouldn’t be in this position, but at 0-3, I have no choice but to give the team out of Nap-town a spot on the list.

Carson Wentz’s health will continue to be an issue for the Colts. He toughed it out on two bad ankles against the Titans on Sunday, but he wasn’t that good. He completed 19/37 passes for only 194 yards.

Indy’s defense has also been extremely disappointing to start the year. They’ve given up more than 25 points in each game so far.

Indianapolis was supposed to be one of the most complete teams in the league but injuries and defensive setbacks put them on this list.

The Lions also aren’t as terrible as their record would suggest. They’ve been competitive in every game they’ve played this season against some really good teams.

They had a nice comeback against the 49ers and played the Packers tough until the fourth quarter. Yesterday it took Justin Tucker making the longest field goal in NFL history for the Ravens to get out of Detroit with a W.

They are 0-3 and while they currently deserve their spot here, I wouldn’t be surprised if Detroit finds a way to get off this list pretty soon.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars

3. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars are pooh-pooh. But they did some things well yesterday against the Cardinals, who are a pretty good team.

Jacksonville had nearly 160 yards on the ground, for instance, and was able to stay pretty close with Arizona throughout the game.

But Trevor Lawrence has 7 interceptions in three games so far, and the defense can’t stop anyone with a heartbeat, so this team is stuck in this cycle of playing from behind and then getting further and further behind.

Unlike some other teams at the bottom of the pack right now, the Jaguars will likely remain on this list for the foreseeable future.

The Jets are pure garbage. They struggle at literally everything there is to struggle at on the football field.

They were shut out 26-0 against the Broncos on Sunday. Zach Wilson threw two more interceptions, and he’s having to do a lot just for this offense to have a chance to move the ball.

Meanwhile, the defense couldn’t disrupt Teddy Bridgewater’s rhythm and allowed the Broncos to get off to their first 3-0 start since 2016.

The Giants lost to the Atlanta Chickadees on Sunday. On the day team honored Eli Manning, they managed to drop a game to the Flamingos despite having more total yards and first downs.

Daniel Jones was “ehh” once again, and Saquon Barkley is still trying to get back to the level of explosiveness he had before the ACL injury. The Giants just aren’t that good. They are one of those teams who, despite what the roster shows on paper, always find a way to disappoint.

If you can’t beat one of the worst organizations in football, on your home field, on the day you honor one of your legends, then that gives you the top spot in this week’s Powerless Rankings.
