White Sox activate new additions RHP Aaron Civale, 1B Ryan Noda

The Chicago White Sox activated newly-acquired right-hander Aaron Civale to the active roster Saturday and recalled first baseman Ryan Noda from Triple-A Charlotte.
In corresponding moves, left-hander Tyler Gilbert and first baseman Tim Elko were optioned to Charlotte.
Civale was acquired Friday from the Milwaukee Brewers for first baseman Andrew Vaughn after losing his spot in the starting rotation. He is set to make his White Sox debut Sunday as a starter.
Civale, who turned 30 on Thursday, has recorded all 122 of his regular-season appearances as a starter. He did come out of the bullpen in a Game 1 loss of the 2024 National League wild-card series against the New York Mets, throwing three scoreless innings.
Civale is 1-2 with a 4.91 ERA in five starts this season with Milwaukee. He is 40-37 with a 4.06 ERA in his MLB career with Cleveland (2019-23), Tampa Bay Rays (2023-24) and Brewers, who traded for him last July.
Noda, 29, was acquired off waivers from the Boston Red Sox on Friday and set to make his White Sox debut after he batted .212 with 17 home runs and 58 RBIs in 164 games the past two seasons with the Oakland Athletics.
Gilbert, 31, was 1-1 with a 4.20 ERA in 14 appearances (three starts) with the White Sox. Elko, 26, made his major league debut May 10 and batted .155 with four home runs and eight RBIs in his first 18 major league games.
