BYU Beats Nebraska With Hail Mary

Mitch Mathews hauled in a 42-yard hail mary from Tanner Mangum on the final play of the game to stun a Cornhuskers crowd in Lincoln and give BYU a 33-28 win over the Cornhuskers.

The Cougars had previously squandered a 10-point lead by allowing two touchdowns in the third quarter, only to rally in the final period. It ruined Mike Riley’s first appearance as Nebraska’s head coach, but provided a great opportunity for ESPN’s Sean McDonough to shine.
