Chaotic Brawl Erupts On The Field At Orange County Soccer Friendly

Old-timers from Mexican soccer giants Club América and Pumas met for an exhibition game this weekend in Southern California. Fans who showed up were not treated to a full game, but they did get to witness an all-out brawl on the field between fans of the rival clubs during halftime.

Here’s another angle. Please enjoy the stadium announcer telling fans to calm down with all the enthusiasm of a sleeping turtle.

Santa Ana police said that five people were arrested after the fight, which really took a long time to break up. Things apparently kicked off after some América fans got bold and went over to the Pumas side of the field to start shit. According to OC Weekly, security was unduly lax at the game, especially considering the nasty rivalry between the two clubs. I’ll say.
