Christian Ponder Came Out To Play Last Night, And So Did The "Ponder" Puns
Throughout the first three quarters of the Bears-Vikings game last night, Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth mentioned Christian Ponder, as well as "ponder" puns, as many times as they possibly could.
They wondered if he'd get a snap, and they wondered if he'd eventually start for Minnesota. They wondered, literally, when the McNabb-Ponder face-off would become "an official quarterback controversy." Then, in the fourth quarter, Ponder entered the game and the speculation turned into praise. Collinsworth even went so far as to give Ponder a Sanchez-worthy compliment: he was "poised."
Ponder was 9-17 for 99 yards in the Vikings' loss.
