College Football Week 10 Picks: Tennessee, Miami, and More Best Bets
Just ten weeks ago, we were on track for one of the best college football weekends of the season.
Unfortunately, in reality, it’s a pretty light slate this week with only three ranked matchups — and none of them are super compelling. That doesn’t mean the picks won’t be great, so let’s get into them.
#9 Vanderbilt vs #20 Texas (-3.5)
Total: 46.5
Playoff aspirations are on the line in this one, as the loser of this game is likely going to miss the playoffs this season.
This spot is pretty simple: Vanderbilt is the most overrated team in the country, and their offense is not good. Texas, on the other hand, underperformed so drastically that their ranking underrates them.
I don’t think it matters whether or not Arch Manning can go in this one; Texas’ defense will keep Pavia in check and win in a low-scoring affair.
Pick: u46.5
Lean: Texas (-3.5)

#10 Miami (-10.5) vs SMU
Total: 50.5
When November rolls around, Mario Cristobal turns into a pumpkin, with a 4-8 record since he took over as head coach in 2022.
I’m willing to forget his past transgressions and continue to fully believe in this Miami team. The recent loss to Louisville scares me, but I genuinely think this is still the second most talented team in the country.
I think they finish 11-1, and beat up on an SMU team with too much inconsistency on offense.
Pick: Miami (-10.5)
#18 Oklahoma vs #14 Tennessee (-2.5)
Total: 55.5
Since returning from injury, John Mateer looks like an entirely different quarterback, and it has resulted in Oklahoma averaging under 20 points per game since his return.
On the other hand, outside of a poor performance in Tuscaloosa, Tennessee has consistently been one of the best passing offenses in the country all season long.
Oklahoma has faced one offense all year that could press the ball downfield, and they were completely exposed in that matchup against Ole Miss.
I love Tennessee in the spot and think they might win big.
Pick: Tennessee (-2.5)

#17 Cincinnati vs #24 Utah (-10.5)
Total: 54.5
This game doesn’t have a lot of analysis besides one main thing: I will not let this crappy Utah team burn me for a third time in a ranked matchup this season.
Both ranked games Utah has been in — Texas Tech and BYU — have completely outclassed them. I don’t think Cincy is great; however, quarterback Brendan Sorsby has been putting together a pretty solid season since a rough opening night against Nebraska at Arrowhead.
I’m not sure they win on the road at Utah, but getting 10.5 points is far too many.
