Drake's New Song Is A Big Shout Out To Johnny Manziel
The Johnny Manziel-Drake bromance continues apace. "Draft day, Johnny Manziel / Five years later, how am I the man still?" begins Drizzy's newest song, giving rarely seen prominence to the athlete-shout-out portion of a rap song (poor Andrew Wiggins gets second billing).
As far as Drake songs go, this is about as Drake-y as it gets: "Last night I tried some raw oysters / Man, that boy growin' up quick." But then Drake hits us with "On some Hunger Games shit, I would die for my district / Jennifer Lawrence you could really get it." Goddammit, Drake.
Anyway, it's a fun enough song that Johnny Manziel can always use to remind people that he was once a really big deal if he turns out to be an NFL bust. I mean, this is the song's cover art, for crying out loud:
