Report: Tennessee Puts Greg Schiano Back In Dumpster, Runs Away
Photo: Al Messerschmidt/ [object Object] When news broke that Tennessee football had given up and hired Greg Schiano to replace Butch Jones, the reaction from its fanbase was quick and strong. Both for Sandusky scandal-related reasons and bad-at-football reasons, prominent Tennesseans and some on campus have sent clear messages that Schiano isn’t wanted by ... anyone.
Tennessee appears to have heard those messages; just a few hours after the first initial leaks, they appear to have quickly backed away from hiring Schiano.
Other, more appealing candidates presumably available for Tennessee to court include Mike Leach, Chris Petersen, Jon Gruden, and literally dozens of other coaches.
