ESPN Says It Has A Spreadsheet Of Manti Te'o's Phone Calls [UPDATED]
Jeremy Schaap has obtained from "a source" (Te'o?) what are purported to be Manti Te'o's phone records, covering the four months from May 11 through Sept. 12, when Lennay Kekua "died."
This screengrab ran on SportsCenter, and presumably more details will be forthcoming, but for now, the records show 1,000 calls between Te'o and a Southern California area code supposedly belonging to Kekua, with 110 of those calls lasting longer than an hour.
Te'o has maintained he was initially the victim of a hoax, and after learning that Kekua wasn't real he continued to keep the story alive for fear of embarrassment.
Update (3:25 p.m.): Apparently, ESPN doesn't have the actual phone records. They have "a spreadsheet" from their source, which claims it represents Te'o's phone records. We've changed our headline to reflect this.
Their veracity could not be independently confirmed, but the source insisted they are genuine.
