It's A White Christmas In Sports
This image was lost some time after publication. The yearly report from SportsBusiness Journal on the 50 Most Powerful People In Sports Business is out, and, like the rest of on-field sports, it's almost all white people! Who can forget that classic Brian Scalabrine-Fred Hoiberg battle last night? Someday one of those guys is gonna dunk!
BlackAthlete.net points out that only two people on the list are black, and they're both union heads: the NFL's Gene Upshaw (No. 17) and the NBA's Billy Hunter (No. 29), whom you might recognize as the "Oz" character who's always dropping the soap and being "negotiated with" by commissioner David Stern (No. 3). The No. 1 guy is, of course, ESPN head honcho George Bodenheimer.
We didn't make the list yet, but we're working on it. We're white, so we have that advantage.
