Jeanie Buss Goes In On "Losers" Who Don't Want To Play With Kobe
Things aren't going so great for the Los Angeles Lakers right now. Their head coach is dead set on implementing a caveman brand of basketball that may very well turn the Lakers into the worst team in the NBA, and a recent story by ESPN's Henry Abbott painted Kobe Bryant as a self-sabotaging sociopath whom nobody wants to play with. So today was a good day for Lakers president Jeanie Buss to go on SportsCenter and send a message to all the losers out there.
Buss' entire interview is above, but things get good at about the 2:00 mark, when anchor Kevin Negandhi asks her what she thinks about a Lakers source telling Abbott that Bryant's ego scares away potential free agents. Buss responded: "Any free agent that would be afraid to play with Kobe Bryant is probably a loser, and I'm glad they wouldn't come to the team."
And what of that source within the Lakers' organization that spilled the dirt to Abbott? "If there is somebody that's on our payroll that is saying things like that, I will soon get to the bottom of it and they won't be working for us anymore."
Going on TV to call other people losers and threaten to bring the hammer down on traitorous moles is some Donald Trump shit, and if the organization is getting this feisty before the season even starts, we can't wait to see what happens when Byron "Three-Pointers Are For Wimps" Scott leads them to a 1-9 start.
