John Scott—whom the NHL tried its hardest to keep out of the All-Star Game and who is not even currently in the NHL—brought the Nashville crowd to its feet after scoring two goals for his Pacific team in the first game. A Corey Perry goal proved to be the sole scoring in the second game, as Scott led the Pacific All-Stars to an All-Star Championship Game victory and its $1 million prize.

Scott thanked the Nashville fans after the game, as they chanted “M-V-P” at the current member of the AHL’s St. John’s IceCaps. Their urging proved true; Scott would indeed be awarded the game’s MVP trophy and the pickup truck that came with it.
