Kevin Durant Out Indefinitely With Persistent Foot Soreness
Thunder GM Sam Presti held a press conference today to announce that his team is super boned. Well, he didn't say that specifically, but that's about all there is to be gleaned from his announcement that Kevin Durant, who was supposedly close to returning to the team after missing the last 13 games with a foot injury, will remain on the shelf indefinitely.
Durant had returned to portions of Thunder practice five days ago, but was held out of yesterday's practice after experiencing soreness in his surgically repaired foot. Based on Presti's comments today, it doesn't sound like the soreness is going away anytime soon.
The Thunder are currently one game up on the Pelicans for the Western Conference's final playoff spot, and Serge Ibaka is still recovering from his knee surgery. Russell Westbrook is probably going to play 46 minutes per game from here on out, and also burst into flames on the court.
