Kings Take Stanley Cup With Comeback Double-Overtime Game 5 Win
The Kings hoisted the Stanley Cup tonight for the second time in three years after Alec Martinez's goal at 14:43 of the second overtime gave Los Angeles a series win in five games.
For the third time in four losses, the New York Rangers blew a lead. This time, it came when Marian Gaborik's third period power play goal knotted things at 2-2. The loss means New York is still seeking its first NHL title since 1994. Don't blame Henrik Lundqvist, though. He had 21 saves in the overtime periods, some of them heroic.
