Lineman On Moped Meets Pickup Truck, Truck Wins
Click to view Iowa center Josh Koeppel was tooling around campus Monday morning, when he had a little run-in with a Ford F-150. Now there's video, and it's clear Koeppel forgot to flick his truck stick.
Amazingly, Koeppel walked away from the crash. Documented proof that he rides a moped may bruise his ego, but that's about it.
The good news is senior offensive lineman Josh Koeppel escaped serious injury in a mishap Monday morning. He was treated and released from the hospital with a variety of bumps, bruises and cuts but nothing more.
Koeppel had been battling for the starting center job with Ferentz's son, James, but the coach said Tuesday at his weekly news conference that he doubts Koeppel will be in uniform Saturday when the Hawkeyes open the season against Eastern Illinois.
Competing with the coach's son for a starting role? Yeah, this accident's no big loss; Koeppel wasn't going to play anyway.
