After Ole Miss picked off Georgia in overtime Saturday night, reporters covering the game wanted to talk to Marshall Henderson, and not just because he's the most reliably entertaining player in college basketball. In the game, the Rebels had trailed by eight with 3:37 remaining, but Henderson scored all 14 of its regulation points after that. He finished with 25 points and made all 14 of his free throws, including nine in that crucial stretch heading into OT.
It was a game the Rebels had to win. Ole Miss had lost four of five, and its NCAA tournament aspirations likely couldn't withstand a homecourt loss against such a mediocrity. So what would Henderson have to say about it all when it was his turn on the dais during the postgame presser? Hugh Kellenberger, the Ole Miss beat writer for the Jackson Clarion-Ledger, said Henderson took a couple of steps into the media room before shouting the following and disappearing into the night:
"If it's all the same, it's Saturday night. I'm out."
We really can't say this enough: Marshall Henderson is the best.
