Anthony Markanich and Kelvin Yeboah each scored second-half goals as Minnesota United finished off a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday at Carson, Calif., for their first road win of the season.

Markanich scored his first goal of the season, while Yeboah added his team-leading third as Minnesota United (2-2-2, 8 points) has now earned points in consecutive matches after an embarrassing 6-0 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps last month.

Minnesota was without forwards James Rodriguez (illness) and Julian Gressel (toe), as well as defender Michael Boxall (groin) and midfielder Peter Stroud (quad).

Marco Reus scored a goal for the Galaxy (1-3-2, 5 points), who were without a pair of key contributors in forward Joseph Paintsil (hamstring) and defender Jakob Glesnes (calf).

Drake Callender made six saves for Minnesota, while JT Marcinkowski had one save for Los Angeles.

After a scoreless first half, Minnesota United took a 1-0 lead in the 51st minute when Markanich scored off of a long pass from the center of the pitch by Joaquin Pereyra. The delivery led Markanich past the Galaxy back line and he beat Marcinkowski in a one-on-one situation.

The Galaxy pulled even in the 57th minute when Reus scored on a nifty passing sequence from Gabriel Pec and Joao Klauss to score for the second time this season. Reus' initial shot was blocked by Callender before he scored with his left foot off the rebound.

Minnesota went up for good in the 67th minute after a Galaxy turnover. Tomas Chancalay moved toward the end line on the left side of goal and placed a centering pass between five Los Angeles defenders and on the foot of Yeboah for the score.

Chancalay had an assist for both Minnesota United goals for his first goal contributions during his first season with the club.
