The deal came together Tuesday, the first day teams were allowed to start contacting their own players to negotiate extensions, per the report. Contracts can be signed on July 6 at 12:01 p.m. ET.
The Pacers acquired Siakam, 30, and his expiring contract from the Toronto Raptors in January. As part of the three-way deal, which also involved the New Orleans Pelicans, the Pacers gave up Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwora and three first-round draft picks.
Siakam will be under contract through the 2028 season once the deal is signed. His wingman, guard Tyrese Haliburton, is under contract through 2029.
A two-time All-Star, Siakam appeared in 41 regular-season games with the Pacers, averaging 21.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists. The Pacers advanced to the Eastern Conference finals, losing to the eventual champion Boston Celtics, and Siakam added averages of 21.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.8 points in 17 postseason games.
Siakam won the NBA title with the Raptors in 2019.
In 551 career games (457 starts), Siakam averages 17.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.6 points.
