Reports: Matt Leinart To Sign With Oakland Raiders
Look out Bay Area, here comes the party (and lifetime 57.6 completion percentage). Friend of the program, Matt Leinart is ready to move on from his backup role in Houston to a new backup role with the Oakland Raiders. According to Adam Schefter, Leinart will sign with the Raiders and immediately become the backup to his fellow Trojan, Carson Palmer.
The move is one of familiarity for Leinart and the Raiders new offensive coordinator. "Leinart has a history with current Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Knapp, who most recently served as the Texans' quarterbacks coach."
Leinart's arrival will leave Terrelle Pryor as Oakland's third-string quarterback, a weirdly fitting turn of events for Al Davis's final draft pick.
