Robert Nkemdiche Is Out Of The Sugar Bowl And Headed To The NFL After His Fall And Arrest
After falling out of an Atlanta hotel window a week ago then getting popped for marijuana possession, Ole Miss lineman Robert Nkemdiche has been suspended from the team’s Sugar Bowl matchup with Oklahoma State. He will head to the NFL, according to a statement he released this morning.
From the statement:
“While I wish I could have finished this journey with my team, I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this program, and I am ready to begin the next phase of my life. I have learned a valuable lesson in the last week, and I look forward to showing NFL personnel that this is not representative of my true character. I want to thank my coaches, my teammates and Rebel Nation for their support these past three years, and I look forward to making them proud for years to come.”
Nkemdiche will probably be an early pick in the 2016 NFL draft. Scout.com caught up with him at Morgan Freeman’s blues club Ground Zero, where he was playing the saxophone. He revealed to Scout that he blacked out after he fell from the window. While many teams will flag Nkemdiche’s arrest as a character flaw, someone will probably take him in the first round.
