The Double Nutshot Match Ending, As Called By WWE Announcers In 9 Languages
Last night, A.J. Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura wrestled in a singles match for the WWE championship for the third time in less than a month. They are two of the best wrestlers in WWE and their match work over the last few years puts them among the best wrestlers in the world.
And yet their previous matches, at WrestleMania 34 and Greatest Royal Rumble, were underwhelming. Styles retained the title cleanly at WrestleMania, after which Nakamura hit Styles with a low blow. Nakamura’s heel character has actually been quite good, but the double-countout finish at WWE’s Saudi propaganda show was unsatisfying.
The two wrestled in a no-disqualification match for the title. It may have been their best match of the three, but it had another ridiculous finish. Styles and Nakamura hit each other with simultaneous low blows, leading to yet another countout ending.
It’s quite possibly the first double-nutshot match finish in wrestling history. To celebrate, here are all of WWE’s announcers—in nine different languages—calling the double low blow.
