The Moment Lightning Struck At A High School Football Game

A game between Orlando University High School and Boone HS was called off Friday night at halftime. You can see why.

These are stills from video shot by a band member's father, and obtained by the The bolt struck a tree just beyond the field, pretty much searing it clean. The game was delayed for an hour as fans took cover under the bleachers, then called off altogether.

Here's the video. The lightning strike comes at the 5:08 mark. The football team scurries for cover. The band plays on.
