There's A New Contender For The Worst Mistake On A Kickoff Return
Less than a week after the Titans' Darius Reynaud started the NFL season with a safety on an opening kickoff, Marshall's Steward Butler gave us an even more derp-tuoso performance during a college game Saturday night.
Butler pretty much did it all on this botched return against Ohio. He tried to field the kick on a bounce. He fumbled. He failed to fall on the ball. He inadvertently kicked the ball backward. The ball eventually got knocked into the end zone. Ohio's Toran Davis provided the final flourish by falling on the ball for a touchdown.
The Titans covered for Reynaud's mistake by going on beat the Steelers. Marshall would go on to lose this game by three.
