Urban Meyer Reportedly Will Take Ohio State Job, Hire Kirk Herbstreit As Assistant [UPDATE]
Sports Illustrated, via Eleven Warriors and Sports by Brooks, is reporting that Urban Meyer is set to take over as Ohio State head football coach.
Following a tweet Thursday night indicating that Meyer would take the job, Eleven Warriors reported that, while Meyer had not been in Columbus at any point during the week, and no contract was actually signed, Meyer will take the job following the NCAA's decision on sanctions against Ohio State. The school expects the decision by the end of the month.
Current Ohio State head coach Luke Fickell is expected to remain on Meyer's staff which is reported to also include ESPN analyst and former Ohio State quarterback Kirk Herbstreit and LSU offensive coordinator Greg Studwara—who coached with Meyer at Bowling Green.
