Mandatory Credit: Jesse Johnson-Imagn Images Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga has been fined $35,000 for "making inappropriate contact with and continuing to pursue a game official," the NBA announced Thursday.
Kuminga was ejected in the waning moments of the second quarter in the Warriors' 118-111 preseason victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday. He received a technical foul and an immediate dismissal after making contact with an official while arguing a call.
Kuminga was upset with the lack of a call after he drew contact while going to the rim on an attempted layup. He then took issue with the official as play continued.
Signed to a two-year, $48.5 million contract last month after a stalemate with the club, Kuminga averaged 15.3 points and 4.6 rebounds over 47 games (10 starts) last season.
Kuminga, 23, has contributed 12.5 points and 4.0 boards in 258 career games (84 starts) since being selected by the Warriors with the seventh overall pick of the 2021 NBA Draft.
