Which States Hate Themselves The Most?

A new Gallup poll, covered in USA Today, poses a goofy but fascinating question: Do you consider your home state to be the best, or one of the best, to live in?
The results are mapped above, which each state represented by at least 600 respondents. The hoorah states are about what you'd expect—Montana and Alaska come out on top, with Texas, Wyoming, and Utah lurking close behind—but the real gems are the self-haters. Less than one in five residents of Illinois and Rhode Island had a positive view of their home state, the worst percentages by a pretty significant margin. In fact, 25 percent of Illinois residents self-described their state as " the worst possible to live in."
You can check out the full poll results over at Gallup.
