Kevin Durant—who joined the Warriors after squandering a 3-1 lead over them in the Western Conference Finals and also cultivated burner accounts to defend himself online—went on his friend C.J. McCollum’s podcast to dispense giggling wisdom such as, “Just keep playing man, don’t worry about what goes on at the top of things” and “Get out your feelings, yo.” The ironies of Kevin Durant dispensing this wisdom were not lost on anyone listening, but the fragile superstar did get enough nice jabs in to leave McCollum looking a little helpless.
Perhaps the Trail Blazers guard kept stewing after the recording session was over, because later in the day he wrote that Durant’s decision to sign with Golden State was “soft,” like “getting jumped with ur brothers by a gang you should’ve beat then joining the gang that jumped u and ur brothers 2 months later & forgetting about your bros.”
Durant, who “just did your fuckin podcast” after all, could not wrap his head around this snake’s betrayal. McCollum tried to de-escalate by referring to his own commentary on KD as “soft” and appending some seemingly unrelated photos of him scratching his face and ducking a punch.
So concludes this Grade-B beef in the dead middle of the NBA offseason.
