Curt Schilling Needs Help Getting Aid Supplies To Houston
Image via Brandon Marshall/Twitter This past week Curt Schilling organized a collection of cash and supplies to be transported to Houston, where such things are urgently, desperately needed. Schilling provided a trailer and would be doing the transporting himself, and organized volunteers to collect and sort and pack and guard donations in the buildup to the trip. This was a real thing!
The plan was to accept donations (including PayPal donations), load up the physical supplies, then use Periscope to document the trip down to Houston and the distribution of these sorely needed supplies to those displaced and stranded and otherwise caught up in Hurricane Harvey’s devastation.
Things were apparently going swimmingly until this afternoon, when the venture hit a serious snag:
This may be a sweetly inefficient way of getting aid and supplies to a devastated region, but it is nonetheless a real thing, and Schilling really does have a trailer full of relief supplies stranded on westbound highway I-40 in Tennessee. If you are in a position to help the man get his supplies back on the move, Schilling can be found on Twitter @gehrig38. It sounds like he still needs a trailer and help moving the packed supplies from the broken-down trailer into the new one.
