Holy Shit, Durant And Westbrook
KD and Russ are the best and we love them and they're very fun to watch, sure. But this is preposterous. This is obscene. From Elias Sports:
Kevin Durant scored 32 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and handed out nine assists while Russell Westbrook scored 31 points with 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the Thunder's win over the Clippers. This is the first time in NBA history - regular season or postseason - that a pair of teammates each had at least 30 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists in a game. There have been over 56,000 NBA games since 1950-51 - regular season plus playoffs - the first year the NBA began recording rebounds.
Sure, that's some fun with endpoints, and these are usually dumb. But still—there's usually a Jordan or a Wilt waiting on the end of these narrow-constraint queries. And even when there isn't, this isn't some hyper-specific, 36-point-8-rebound-7-steal-14-assist deal. So yeah, Durant was great, and Russ was peak Russ, but damn. It's easy to forget how impossible these two are—especially since we'll never really get over how they're this good, but still incomplete.
