MLB Suspends Bryce Harper And Hunter Strickland For Entertaining Brawl
Photo: Ben Margot/ [object Object] After a fight like the one that Bryce Harper and Hunter Strickland kicked off this weekend, a raft of suspensions was inevitable. MLB announced this evening that Harper would be suspended for four games and Hunter Strickland will have to sit out six. Both players will appeal the decisions and both received fines.
Strickland receiving a heavier sentence and getting blamed for inciting the incident isn’t surprising, seeing as how Harper is one of the faces of the league and Strickland apparently stewed for three years before igniting a brawl that even his catcher wouldn’t join. If anything, six games feels a bit light, given that Rougned Odor got eight for walloping Jose Bautista last year. It also apparently pays to have horrible aim with your helmet.
