LIV's Greg Norman teases Anthony Kim's return
Anthony Kim is returning to professional golf for the first time in nearly 12 years at this weekend's LIV Golf League tournament in Saudi Arabia.
LIV Golf League CEO and commissioner Greg Norman teased Kim's comeback Monday on X, sharing a video from LIV Golf's account that appeared to show a shadowed Kim walking down a fairway. His post included the text, "He oozes incredible talent. The world has seen it in the past and now it is an honour as Commissioner of LIV Golf to give the opportunity for this star to be reborn. Welcome back and to the LIV Golf family mate. The golf world has missed you."
Kim, 38, a three-time PGA winner in his six years on the Tour, had surgery on his left Achilles tendon after the 2012 Wells Fargo Championship.
LIV Golf Jeddah begins on Friday at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in Saudi Arabia.
NBC Sports reported Saturday that Kim had been in contact with officials from the PGA Tour and LIV Golf. Neither league has publicly commented yet on Kim's status.
Per multiple reports, Kim would void an insurance policy from his playing days that is worth an estimated $10 million if he returns to the pro circuit.
LIV Golf's new format includes two wild-card players, one of whom will reportedly be Kim. Each event in 2024 features 13 teams of four players each, and two wild cards. Those wild cards will earn points as individuals and could eventually earn a place on an LIV Golf team.
