Juan Uribe Sends The Dodgers To The NLCS With This Bomb
In the bottom of the 8th in Los Angeles, Juan Uribe sent the Atlanta Play The Game The Right Ways packing with an absolute monster blast to left field.
The story heading in to this decisive Game 4 was Clayton Kershaw getting the start on short rest. He went six innings and gave up 2 runs on three hits. Decent night. Behind their ace, the Dodgers jumped out to a two-run lead thanks to two Carl Crawford home runs—in the first and third innings—but the Braves tied it up by the fourth inning. Jose Constanza gave the Braves a 3-2 lead in the seventh, knocking in Elliot Johnson.
But then the story became Juan Uribe. In the bottom of the eighth, after Yasiel Puig ripped (and legged out) a double to right field, Uribe smoked David Carpenter's 2-2 pitch into the Dodgers bullpen. It gave Los Angeles a 4-3 lead and they would hold on to win the game and the series.
The Dodgers now await the winner of St. Louis-Pittsburgh, who play again Wednesday night. Game 1 of the NLCS would then begin on Friday.
