England's Trainer Injures Himself Celebrating Sturridge Equalizer
The first half of England-Italy had a little bit of everything. Italy took a 1-0 lead on a long-distance strike from midfielder Claudio Marchisio. England, likely preoccupied with Andrea Pirlo, bit on his drive on the ball and left Marchisio all alone. He put it right inside the post.
Two minutes later, Daniel Sturridge scored a nifty goal on a beautiful ball from Wayne Rooney. Rooney put a cross right in stride for Sturridge that he was able to flick in off the bounce for the equalizer.
Unfortunately, during the celebration near the bench, the England physio was injured. Gary Lewin reportedly dislocated his ankle and had to be stretchered off the pitch.
Roy Hodgson's staff were seen to jump off the bench in celebration but Lewin immediately fell to the floor and repeatedly banged the ground with his fist.
And finally, with the second half just under way, Mario Balotelli did his thing. Balotelli put Italy up 2-1 with this header in the 50th minute. This is the Italian feed below.
