Seton Hall Buzzer Beater Knocks Villanova Out Of Big East Tournament
In a crazy finish, Villanova, the 1 seed in the Big East Tournament and no. 3 in the nation, was knocked off by Seton Hall on a last second shot by Sterling Gibbs. This is why we love March.
The game was back and forth at the end, with Seton Hall's Jaren Sina hitting a three with 17 seconds left to put them up 62-61, and Darrun Hilliard making a floater off a spin move in the lane a few seconds later. Seton Hall advanced the ball and called timeout. Gibbs took the inbound, made a hard move to the lane, and pulled up for the long step-back.
The loss won't do much to Nova, and only a tournament win would get Seton Hall into the NCAA Tournament, but it opens this side of the bracket for the winner of Providence-St. John's, which tips off around now.
