Jeremy Abbott Eats It, Gets Up, And Finishes To Huge Applause
Jeremy Abbott is having a rough time in Sochi, but he still manages to keep going. He ate it twice in the short program after Evgeni Plushenko put on a show to kick off the team competition last week and he just ate it again in the individual short.
After today's fall, he remained on the ice for about 15 seconds in front of his coaches before pulling himself up as the crowd willed him on. As he got up, wincing and grabbing his hip, the crowd cheered louder. He was able to finish his routine and hit all the required elements, including a triple lutz-triple toe combination moments after the crash. You're all right, Jeremy Abbott.
He scored a 72.58 and remained in first place, until fellow American Jason Brown unseated him with an even 86.
