Is Rodionova Gonna Have To Choke A Bitch?
You know, a world in which athletic participants can't wing their equipment at fans who are heckling them ... that's a world we don't want to live in.
Anastasia Rodionova was disqualified during the third set of her afternoon match against Angelique Kerber at the Lindner Family Tennis Center after the Russian fired a shot in frustration in the direction of heckling fans in the stands. The ball hit the support wall in front of the three female fans, who were sitting in the front row. Tournament referee William Coffey said Rodionova's conduct was inappropriate enough to default her without warning. "It was disrespectful and potentially very dangerous," Coffey said.
It was only the second default in the history of the WTA. The first? When Chris Evert leapt into the stands in Buffalo and stabbed a man in the throat repeatedly, then grabbed his dog and electrocuted it. She's quite the competitor.
